Risks Of Not Replacing Missing Teeth

Posted on 11/7/2022 by Evan
Risks Of Not Replacing Missing TeethOne of the most common things people notice in your face is your teeth. Having a missing tooth may lower your self-esteem.

If you lose your tooth, you must seek medical attention. Many problems may follow when you ignore replacing lost teeth. Here are the risks of not replacing missing teeth:

Misalignment Of The Other Teeth

When you take long to replace your missing teeth, you will start affecting the other teeth. They will weaken and start moving to the gap.

Other teeth may start growing on the missing tooth space and cause overcrowding. You will have a difficult time brushing and flossing after overcrowding.

Greater Chances Of Gum Infections

The hole on the gums is prone to infections as the area is open. The conditions can then increase and cause other teeth to lose.

When food particles get into the area, you have a missing tooth; it may be hard to get it out even after brushing. The food will create bacteria which in turn will cause other gum diseases.

Jaw Deformation

You will notice that when you have missing teeth, it can make the jaw weak and can deform. Teeth help keep the jaw bone in line and ensure the mouth is in shape.

You must visit the dentist as soon as you lose your first tooth. It will become difficult for you to chew food, and you might also develop teeth grinding.

Speech Impediment

Teeth play an important role when a person is speaking. There are some sounds that you cannot pronounce without the teeth.

Thus you will have difficulty communicating with others as they will not understand you well. The incisors play the most critical role; without them, you develop a whistling sound as the air escapes. It will help if you visit our dentist to understand the risks of not replacing missing teeth.
