Surprising Superfoods for Your TeethConsumption of sugary foods in our diet could pose a danger for our teeth. The sugar forms deposits on the tooth surface and brings about the formation of plaque which causes tooth decay and later can lead to tooth loss. There are some foods however that we consider not good for our teeth but surprisingly they are healthy.

Chocolate


Dark chocolate is a tooth superfood because it contains a chemical called CBH, which has been shown in animal testing to help harden tooth enamel, making your teeth less vulnerable to decay. To put it another way, dark chocolate may assist to prevent cavities.

Cheese


Cheese's capacity to fight acid erosion of the teeth makes it a superfood for the teeth. Your teeth are exposed to lots of tooth decay-causing acid every time you consume a meal with bread, sweets, citrus, or soda. Cheese can help to neutralize the acid left behind from a meal, making it an excellent dessert option! Avoid cheese from the milk of a cow and consider that of a goat and sheep, which are healthier and simpler to digest.

Oranges


This one may come as a surprise, given that oranges are citrus fruits with acidic effects on the teeth. Citrus, on the other hand, contains vitamin C, which strengthens blood vessels and connective tissue and, by lowering inflammation, inhibits the progression of gum disease. Rinse your teeth shortly after eating citrus fruits. Drink a glass of sparkling water (water with a high pH and minerals) and then clean your teeth afterward. Brush your teeth at least half an hour after consuming acidic food or drink.

Fruits and vegetable


The high fiber content in fruits and vegetables washes the teeth in the same manner that a toothbrush does, and the extra chewing they require encourages saliva production. The cleaning action is beneficial because it decreases plaque buildup. Saliva neutralizes acids that erode dental enamel. Crunchy, juicy fruits and vegetables have a high water content, which helps to balance out their sugar load.
